Professor Figueredo received his PhD in Periodontology and Clinical Chemistry from the Karolinska Institutet in Sweden in May 1999. He started his academic career in 1999 at the Faculty of Odontology of the Rio de Janeiro State University (FOUERJ) in Brazil. From 2010 to 2018, he served as the Dean of Research at the same Faculty. In 2018, Professor Figueredo moved to Australia and has been actively transferring his research, clinical expertise, and network of collaborators to the country.
Professor Figueredo has authored one book, six book chapters, and nearly 200 papers in peer-reviewed journals in both English and Portuguese. His work has been cited almost 5,000 times and has a Google Scholar h-index of 39.
